The Canadian Club is a nonprofit volunteer organization providing Canadians, former Canadians and their guests wintering in Green Valley, with a program of social activities from November through March. It is a social club under the auspices and with the generous support of Green Valley Recreation (GVR),
Volunteers are the backbone of the organization. About 30% of the people attending are core members. The remaining 70% are seasonal members who are made welcome and occasionally asked to pitch in with a task or two on the day of the event.
Membership & Event Fees
Membership is free to anyone holding a GVR Membership Card, Guest Card or Tenant Card. Just sign in at the door with your name(s) and card number(s). A nominal fee for some events helps fund operational expenses of the Club.
But I am not a member of GVR...
Those who do not hold a GVR membership, guest, or tenant card may attend Canadian Club events upon signing the GVR Waiver of Liability Form at the door.
Events Open To All Including Non-GVR Members
Events not held on GVR property such as the annual March Golf Tournament are open to all Canadians with or without GVR cards.

The GVR CANADIAN CLUB is made up of people who will rarely even smile if you end a sentence with “eh”. It is a good place to make new friends.
We enjoy the Arizona weather and the hospitality of our host country, and we occasionally even gather together in the throes of winter to watch the Canadian weather reports.
Come and join us, and make new friends from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland, and from The Yukon to the 49th parallel.

Back in 1979 a group of enthusiastic Canadians wintering in Green Valley got together to share their common bonds and interests. At that time Green Valley was a new town, offering retirement activities in a great winter climate. The idea of a retirement Mecca developed to offset the economic impact caused by the phasing out of mining in the area.
Back in the early days, Club activities included a formal dinner dance and picnics at Picacho Peak (between Tucson and Phoenix). Recently, there has been a trend towards making events simpler and more accessible.

Activities include social meetings, pot-luck dinners, pizza parties, wine and cheese events and golf tournaments. Meetings always include updates about the club and often feature a guest speaker of interest to Canadians.
